| Nissan to Halt Output at 3 Plants for Lack of Steel Nov. 25 (Bloomberg) -- Nissan Motor Co., Japan's second- largest carmaker, said it will suspend production at three factories for five days over the next two weeks because the company has difficulty obtaining steel. The company will lose production of 25,000 vehicles, said Nissan spokesman Yasuhito Chinone. The Tokyo-based carmaker aims to make up the lost production in January. Nissan is releasing six new models in five months in Japan, its biggest-ever model introduction as it tries to increase sales and market share. The Tokyo-based carmaker has received greater- than-expected orders for the models, including the Murano sport- utility vehicle and the Tiida hatchback.
